This business activity helps me so much to kill my nervous.

In this group, I can learn how to work with other people in different country, culture, vision, and background. It is awesome when you can work with people that are different with you. We can learn their culture, and we can increase our knowledge about other culture.

Then, these business activities also change me into a calm people. I was a girl that is easy to panic, before. But in this business, I learn how to control my emotional. I learn how to face all of problems calmly. Then I learn how to solve those problems with cold head and calm condition.

Lastly, I want to say thank you for all of my group members. Thank you for you all for our hard work.. Hope we can always be friends ..

Charity Event at Taman Sinar Harapan Jitra

Few days ago, on 2nd April 2010, our business group went to Taman Sinar Haparan Jitra to do charity event. As we promised in pre-production of our business, we would like to donate our profit to house of disability people, Taman Sinar Harapan Jitra. Our original plan, we would give donation 20% of our profit. But finally, we decided to give RM300 to Taman Sinar Harapan Jitra.

That morning, we went to Jitra at 9.00am by two cars. Me and my group members went to Jitra Mall first to buy goods as donations. Then, around 11.00am we arrived at Taman Sinar Harapan Jitra.

Unfortunately, after we met the officers there, we could not inside Taman Sinar Harapan Jitra. Because in order to go inside, we should sent a permission letter first. Because this is government's institution. So, we just met the officers and gave the donations through them.

We toke some photos with the officers and outside the Taman Sinar Harapan Jitra. Then, we went back to our university, Unversity Utara Malaysia.

We were very happy to give the donations, although what we gave was very little. But we gave it with sincerity. We hope that our donations can be used by them.

PROMOTIONS !!

Just like other company, The Colour of Life Photography Service also wants to promote our service to the target customers. We think that promotion is the most important thing in our business activities. If we can promote our business well, I am sure that we could get many orders from customers. But if we can not do that, I am afraid that our business can not run well.

For the best promotion, The Colour of Life decided to do the promotion in five sections. There are promotion through Pusat Ko-Kurikulum, promotion through poster, flyer, Facebook, and the last promotion through Blog. We tried to catch many intentions and interest from all UUM students.

The main promotion strategic is to obtain the cooperation from the Pusat Ko- Kurikulum in UUM. Our business will be more successful if Pusat Ko- Kurikulum can help us promote this business to all co-curiculum’s lecturer. By this, the business idea will be spread widely in the campus. Thus, we can get a lot of business in short period of time.

Then, our marketing manager, Pipin Ramadhani tried to make a poster and flyer to be distributed to some potential place in UUM. We stuck our poster in every DPP and every DKG in UUM. Then, we distributed our flyers for one week around our campus and DPPs.

The picture below is our poster.

Starting a New Mini Business

Hi everybody..
Finally, after my class finish the topics of business idea and business plan, our lecturer, Madam Rafidah Abd Razak give us a chance to start a new business activity. All of my classmate are excited to except this project. Our class has been divided into 3 big groups. Each group consist of 10-11 group members.

My group decided to make a new business in photography field. This is because we have 2 group members that are expert in photograpy. Our business company name is The Colour of Life. The picture below is our business company logo.

I know, you must be wondering, why we call our business company The Colour of Life..
As we know that, most of the students will not even stop their steps to view the “colour” of the environment that around them.

By our photography business, we wish to give all the students in University Utara Malaysia (UUM) an insight into how the “Colour of Life” can bring them sweet memory in their University life. We can help students to capture their classmates, course mates, club mates and many more to give them memorized their life in University.

This is why we want to name our business as “Colour of Life”. Colour of Life is a method of enabling individual to remember their “colour” in UUM. We provide service for any group in UUM that want to capture their memory. Our target market are co-curriculum classes, clubs in UUM, classes in UUM, organizations, or any other groups.

There are 11 group members in my business group. There are Choong Hon Kit as director, Mohd Zaidi Bin Desa as manager, Tee Chee Seong as finance department manager, Chin Ting Ting as administrative department manager, me as administrative department personnel, Nor Liyana Zakaria as administrative department personnel, Pipin Ramadhani as marketing department manager, Wong Sze Hoey, Leong Kwei Fung, and Keok Shin Siew that work in marketing department, and last Putra Aulia as logistic department manager.

The Most valuable thing that I learned in Project Business Plan

Many people say, a good plan will produce a good result and success. It is true. I agreed. In order to achieve success, we should start with a detail plan. We cannot directly run the business without thinking about the planning and preparation.

Most people who had done it could not run their business in long time. The business will run only for a moment.

The business plan should consist of the business information, management team, company structure, ownership, and intellectual property, industry analysis, marketing plan, operation plan, financial plan, and critical risk factors.

This business plan must explain in detail the whole thing that will be done in the business activities. So, it should be written with great detail.

When me and my group members was doing this business plan, we tried to make it as detail as possible. We tried to plan all of the possibilities that would be happened in the business activities. But one thing that made me learn, we should make the business plan that possible to be done.

We cannot plan something that is impossible to be done. If we do that, then the only thing that will happen is we will be trouble when running the business.

Reflect on learning – The most valuable thing that I learned in Project Business Idea

Like I said in my previous post. When we work on a project, we have to think outside the box. It means that we can not think only on our perspective.

We should think from many perspectives. It is because when we think from many perspectives, we can understand a problem or a certain thing in various understanding.

Working in a group helps us to do that. With 11 people in a group, I can understand and look at a thing or problem in various views. It is because every people has their own mind, every people has different perspective and view.

When different people are working in a group, there would be many views and ideas that can help lead the group in the project and facing problems in group.

It is same like my group, The Colour of Life. It is amazing to have been joined into this group. I was very surprised and amazed when we implement our first meeting. When our lecturer, Madam Rafidah, asked my class to do some questions, we started to discuss and share our opinions and views. We done the brainstorming for this discussion. We speaked out all of our opinions and views in our mind.

In that time, I was surprised that my group member thought a thing in different views like she thought. I was not imagine before that it could happened. It is so valuable for me, that we can learn from other people views and perspectives. It makes us become rich of knowledge.

How we evaluate passion

If you were an investor evaluating the organizational feasibility of a proposed venture, how would you evaluate passion?

It is important to evaluate passion of a proposed venture of an organizational feasibility. As an investor, we do not want to give investment to an organization that can not manage and expand our investment well. It will give bad effect, moreover loss, if we choose unreliable organization to manage our investment.

There are several matters that should be evaluate, in order to decide whether to approve a proposed venture of an organization, or not. In my opinion, there are three main points that should be evaluated.

The first one is, how the organization does the team management. It is important to understand how you work with other people in a production. A good team can produce a good result. So, how an organization maintain its team management will reflect how they will maintain their project.

The second thing is client management. We have to know how an organization position and subjected clients.

The third is credibility. It is including time, cost, and quality. In this part, we should evaluate how the organization can do its job in a certain time, limited cost, but produce a good quality of product.

An additional criteria is, how the organization can improve their quality of work. Nowadays, technology keeps evolving. We can not work linear and static. We always need to increase out skills and do some breakthrough, in order to increase the quality of our work. We need to keep changing and developing.

The Capability of a University Student

In what ways do you think university students are uniquely capable to come up with new product or service ideas?

As a university student, I would like to say, do not underestimate university students. Of course, as students, they still have to fulfill and obey some duty of their study. They have to do their assignments, study and prepare for their examinations, and run their project. Moreover, some students have additional tasks for being a member of one or more than one organizations. Sometimes, students are collaborated to conduct an event in their university or outside their university.

Within their organization, students usually work well. They usually develop some ideas of the members. Sometimes, the ideas will come out from the problems or troubles that are faced by the students. Students usually will develop and evolve a new product or service based on their experiences and their capabilities. For example, a tourism student will develop a new business service that is related to the tourism and holiday trip. Students usually use what they had been studied and gotten from the university.
With all of their capability, their skill, and their knowledge, students will come up with their new product or service idea.

Be The Most Successful Entrepreneur

In my first share, I would like to share with you, some methods how to be a successful entrepreneur. I get these methods from some reliable source and a few methods come from my experiences.

1. Think success.
To attain the kind of success that you want, you need to dream big. Every success story starts with big dreams. You need to have big dreams for yourself - which you want to be somebody rich, famous or fulfilled. You need to have a clear vision of what you want to achieve. But it doesn't stop in dreaming alone. You should actively visualize success in your mind that you can almost feel it, touch it or it is within your reach. Play this image back at every opportunity. What does it feel to triple your current income? How will your life change? What will your business look like if you achieved the million-dollar mark?

Successful entrepreneurs possess an attitude of openness and faith that you can have what you want if you can simply envision it as the first step on the path of action to acquiring it. Management gurus have taught us the power of visualization - seeing yourself in your mind as having accomplished your dreams. If you want to be a successful writer, envision yourself signing books for a throng of people who have lined up to have your autograph. If you want to be rich, picture yourself in luxurious surroundings holding a fat bank account. And the process of envisioning success for you should be a constant activity! You need to think that you are successful (or will be one) every single waking hour. A personal development coach shared me her secret to help her continuously visualize her goals for the moment: when climbing stairs, recite your goal with every step you take. So if you want more money, say "I will have money" in every step of the stairs. This technique will reinforce your goal and keep it fresh in your consciousness.

2. Be passionate with what you do.
You start a business to change any or all part of your life. To attain this change, you need to develop or uncover an intense, personal passion to change the way things are and to live life to the fullest. Success comes easily if you love what you do. Why? Because we are more relentless in our pursuit of goals about things that we love. If you hate your job right now, do you think you will ever be successful at it? Not in a million years! You may plod along, even become competent at the tasks, but you will never be a great success at it. You will achieve peak performance and do what you have to do to succeed only if you are doing something that interests you or something that you care about. Entrepreneurs who succeed do not mind the fact that they are putting in 15 or 18 hours a day to their business because they absolutely love what they do. Success in business is all about patience and hard work, which can only be attained if you are passionate and crazy with your tasks and activities.

3. Focus on your strengths.
Let's face it; you cannot be everything to everybody. Each of us has our own strengths and weaknesses. To be effective, you need to identify your strengths and concentrate on it. You will become more successful if you are able to channel your efforts to areas that you do best. In business, for example, if you know you have good marketing instincts, then harness this strength and make full use of it. Seek help or assistance in areas that you may be poor at, such as accounting or bookkeeping. To transform your weakness to strength, consider taking hands-on learning or formal training.

4. Never consider the possibility of failure.
Ayn Rand, in her novel The Fountainhead, wrote, "It is not in the nature of man - nor of any living entity, to start out by giving up." As an entrepreneur, you need to fully believe in your goals, and that you can do it. Think that what you are doing will contribute to the betterment of your environment and your personal self. You should have a strong faith in your idea, your capabilities and yourself. You must believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that you have the ability to recognize and fulfill them. The more you can develop faith in your ability to achieve your goals, the more rapidly you can attain it. However, your confidence should be balanced with calculated risks that you need to take to achieve greater rewards. Successful entrepreneurs are those who analyze and minimize risk in the pursuit of profit. As they always say, "no guts, no glory."

5. Plan accordingly.
You have a vision, and you have enough faith in yourself to believe that you can achieve your vision. But do you know how to get to your vision? To achieve your vision, you need to have concrete goals that will provide the stepping-stone towards your ultimate vision. Put your goals in writing; not doing so just makes them as intangible fantasies. You need to plan each day in such a way that your every action contributes to the attainment of your vision. Do you foresee yourself as the next Martha Stewart of hand-made home furnishings? Perhaps today, you need to see an artist to help you conceptualize the new line of hand-made linens that you hope to launch. Intense goal orientation is the characteristic of every successful entrepreneur. They have a vision, and they know how to get there. Your ability to set goals and make plans for your accomplishment is the skill required to succeed. Plan, plan and plan - because without which failure is guaranteed.

6. Work hard!
Every successful entrepreneur works hard, hard and hard. No one achieves success just by sitting and staring at the wall every single day. Brian Tracy puts it out this way, "You work eight hours per day for survival; everything over eight hours per day is for success." Ask any successful businessperson and they will tell you immediately that they had to work more than 60 hours per week at the start of their businesses. Be prepared to say goodbye to after-office drinks every day, or a regular weekend get-away trip. If you are in a start-up phase, you will have to breathe, eat and drink your business until it can stand on its own. Working hard will be easy if you have a vision, clear goals, and are passionate with what you do.

7. Constantly Look for Ways to Network.
In business, you are judged by the company you keep - from your management team, board of directors, and strategic partners. Businesses always need assistance, more so small businesses. Maybe the lady you met in a trade association meeting can help you secure funding, or the gentleman at a conference can provide you with management advise. It is important to form alliances with people who can help you, and whom you can help in return. To succeed in business, you need to possess good networking skills and always be alert to opportunities to expand your contacts.

8. Willingness to Learn.
You do not need to be a MBA degree holder or PhD graduate to succeed in your own business. In fact, there are a lot of entrepreneurs who did not even finish secondary education. Studies show that most self-made millionaires have average intelligence. Nonetheless, these people reached their full potentials achieved their financial and personal goals in business because they are willing to learn. To succeed, you must be willing to ask questions, remain curious, interested and open to new knowledge. This willingness to learn becomes more crucial given the rapid changes in technologies and ways of doing business.

9. Persevere and have faith.
No one said that the road to success is easy. Despite your good intentions and hard work, sometimes you will fail. Some successful entrepreneurs suffered setbacks and resounding defeats, even bankruptcy, yet managed to quickly stand up to make it big in their fields. Your courage to persist in the face of adversity and ability to bounce back after a temporary disappointment will assure your success. You must learn to pick yourself up and start all over again. Your persistence is the measure of the belief in yourself. Remember, if you persevere, nothing can stop you.

10. Discipline yourself.
Thomas Huxley once said, "Do what you should do, when you should do it, whether you like it or not." Self-discipline is the key to success. The strength of will to force yourself to pay the price of success - doing what others don't like to do, going the extra mile, fighting and winning the lonely battle with yourself.

Welcome to my blog

Hi everyone..
Welcome to my beloved blog..
Firstly, I want to introduce myself.
My name is Gloria Christmadrea Eka Putri. I come from Jakarta, Indonesia. I'm a university student. I am studying Multimedia at University Utara Malaysia. Now, I'm in the fifth semester.

Before I went to Malaysia, I spent my hole life in Indonesia. I had my kindergarten and primary school in Jakarta. I had 2 years junior high school in Jakarta. Then I went and move to Papua with my family. So I spent the rest of my junior high school in there.

I love my family, I love them very much. I do not have any idea how to tell you how much I love them. This is one of my favorite picture of my family, when we went to Singapore to celebrate Christmas last year.

Actually, my family is a small family. I just have my parents and one younger brother. My parents are live in Papua, Indonesia now. It takes 6 hours flight from Jakarta to Papua. My father is a headmaster of a private elementary school in Timika, Papua, Indonesia. Whereas, my mother is a mathematics teacher in a private junior high school in Timika, Papua, Indonesia.

My brother is 16 years old. He is studying in University Utara Malaysia too. He takes International Business Management course. He is in the second semester now. With this situation, me and my brother can only meet our parents on long holiday, such as semester break. Our parents also can go to Jakarta, where is our 'hometown' house, only when they have long furlough, such as on June until July and December holiday.

In UUM, I live in Dewan Penginapan Pelajar Bank Muamalat. I have 3 roommates. They just like my second family. They are Turseena Amelia Yahya (Amel), who is my roommates from the first semester; Ni Nyoman Yudhiarti (Nyomie), who is just back from Korea last January; and the last, Mifta Hasanah (Uni Mita), who is a master student. This is the picture of us. I love you all girls..

I make this website to help people to understand how to manage an entrepreneurship as a beginner. But actually, I would like to say, I just want to share what I know and what I experienced. I do not teach you, but I share with you. I would like to say thank you to Madam Rafidah Abd Razak, who always teach me and my classmate about IT entrepreneurship, and gives us an opportunity to share it with you.

In conclusion, I hope you all can love my website. Enjoy it..
